Experienced in flight data acquisition, electronic instrument installation, satellite communications/tracking, data communications technology, managing satellite communications sites, project management, and general assembly.

GOLDSTONE DEEP SPACE COMMUNICATIONS COMPLEX
OPERATIONS SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Supervised the tracking operations of the deep space network at Goldstone.  Used information received from satellite-tracking schedulers, from JPL in Pasadena, to assign and direct technicians in the daily administration of the deep space antennas.

FLIGHT DATA ACQUISITION
Set up, operated, monitored, modified, calibrated, and maintained computer systems and divisions for acquisition and analysis of flight data, utilizing knowledge of electronic theory and operation of computer systems.  Set up required electronic data acquisition, test, and measurement equipment and accessories.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION
Supervised and coordinated the activities of engineers and technicians engaged in the installation, testing, adjusting, and maintenance of satellite tracking and telemetry systems.  Installed, tested, and repaired antennas and related equipment that received communication and experimental satellite signals.  Laid underground cable to connect antenna base to source of power and signal lines in building.  Assembled and attached electronic components of antenna.  Solderred connections to electronic controls, using soldering gun and wire cutters.  Tested installed system for conformance to specifications, using test equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscope.  Assisted in the complete recabling of 26 meter antenna.

DATA COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
Installed and repaired data communications lines and equipment for computer system, using hand tools and test equipment.  Moved, changed, installed, repaired, or removed data communications equipment.  Read technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment.  Measured, cut and installed wires and cables.  Spliced wires or cables, using hand tools or soldering iron.  Connected micriocomputer or terminal to daat communications lines.  Disassembled equipment and inspected and tested wiring to locate and repair problem.  Modified equipment in accordance with federal specifications.  Test communication lines to ensure that specifications are met, using testing instructions such as voltmeter and data scope.  Entered commands into computer to test equipment.  Read messages on computer screen to verify the data is being transmitted between locaations of data communications equipment.
